Trump Fires Hard at Harris in First Rally Since Biden Dropped Out
Former President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris during his rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday. This marked his first public appearance since President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 race.
The event, lasting approximately 90 minutes, largely focused on criticizing Harris. Trump repeatedly called her “crazy” and accused her of destroying San Francisco during her tenure as district attorney. He portrayed her as an extreme liberal, claiming she made Bernie Sanders look moderate in comparison.
Without providing evidence, Trump alleged that Harris had been covering up Biden’s health issues and labeled her as untrustworthy, dubbing her “Lyin’ Kamala.”
Immigration and crime were central themes of Trump’s speech. He pledged to terminate all open border policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration on his first day in office if elected.
Addressing the sensitive topic of abortion, Trump stated his support for exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk. This stance was met with cheers from the crowd in North Carolina, a state that has previously been considered a refuge for those seeking abortions.
Trump also touched on the recent assassination attempt against him, boasting about how no one in his crowd fled when shots were fired.
As supporters left the coliseum, some remarked that while the event was good, it felt “long.”
This rally provides a glimpse into the campaign strategy Trump is likely to employ in the coming months, with Harris now at the forefront of his critiques.
